This summer, I made to myself a film festival dedicated to John Carpenter. In a spacious room, with a thick curtain filtering only a fine line of light, I watched a film a day in the afternoon. The films I had a special tenderness for were those for which he also composed the music. I found his music work particularly interesting, this art to create an atmosphere with only a few notes. For someone who was not particularly curious of horror movies, I discovered, thanks to these ones, a genre that was both creative and fun. Maybe because my attention was focused on the storytelling, the set design, the music. It was quite inspiring.
To end with an anecdote, in The Fog, the woman who runs a radio program (cool job!), drives a Volkswagen Type 181 Kurierwagen, a car I would love to drive!
